At the end of the day it is our responsibility as parents to put our foot down and say "no" to those unwanted costumes, clothing and make-up- don't let your child be your boss. Have morals (or stick to your morals) and make them chose something clean and less sexualized.
Teach your child the true meaning behind Halloween- teach your child what people wore when Halloween originated in Ireland with the Celtics... teach them about the Romans conquering the Celtic territories and in turn having Halloween become a Christianity (and Pagan) influenced holiday. Teach your children that Halloween is to intended to give rest and honor those that are no longer with us. Teach them what 'trick or treat' means (in whatever religion or non-religion you participate in). Teach you child that 'Jack-O-Lanterns' were originally cut to frighten the demons away...
Teach your child to respect Halloween for what it is and for where it originates. Just as equally important, teach your child to respect their body... and to chose appropriate costumes.

I totally and completely agree with you!! You and me have a lot in when it comes to raising a kid and what morals and values should be taught. I shake my head in disgust when I see my teenage nieces dressing in things like this.
