Today we decided to travel to Reynoldsburg, OH, to partake in the Tomato Festival.
www.reynoldsburgtomatofestival.org (if you visit the site, turn your volume down, the intro song continuously plays- and it's loud!) When we arrived we were surprised by all the vendors, food, games and activities... but were soon let down when the 'Tomato Festival' had next to nothing to do with tomatoes. At least that we could see.
There were several cases with award winning tomatoes for size, shape, flavor- and foods created with tomatoes... but nothing that we could touch or experience first hand. Well, I take that back, the Livingston House was giving away free seeds and tomato juice (which none of the girls are in to!).
We visited all the booths and bought many food items. Culver's had custard... so Abby and I ate some...yum. Tom and Isabella shared a lemon ice, and Carly ate a Brownie from a local girls softball team. We also shared 'chips on a stick'... for a minute there I thought we were at the MN state fair! Abby made a colored sand bottle and the baby enjoyed running around...free from her restraints! We picked up a lot of free goodies... hats, stickers, colors, coloring books, etc., so that was nice... free stuff is always nice :)
