Abby's art over the years

From the moment that your child first picks up a crayola, marker or anything that can write on a wall/carpet/couch/etc., a parent loves their work and artistic ability. Right? Well, Tom and I do. We know that Abby has a talent for art (drawing and creative writing) when she puts her heart and soul to it.

The reason for this post is to:
1) Show you some of the art that she has created- some dating back to Kindergarten, and
2) Lead you to the next blog about the story she wrote.


Here are a few of my favorites that I have saved over the last 3 years. Now keep in mind that her art is more abstract and being scanned does not do them justice. You can see the beauty in the art more when you are up close and personal :)

This piece she did a couple weeks ago. It is to be looked at on an angle and is actually 3 dimensional in the center.

Both of these (top and bottom) are the same painting. She did this in Kindergarten . It is water painted tulips with a purple construction paper border. The border has charcoal hearts. It is huge (about the size of a wall poster) and won't fit on the scanner, so you can't see it in it's entirety.

This piece was part of a project about an Irish man, from the 1st grade. She doesn't remember it- but I love it, so I kept it!

This painted picture was from the 2nd grade. Just a couple of flowers that need a frame :)

This last drawing was to big to fit in the scanner as well, so I will describe it for you instead. It is a drawing of three homes along the underground railroad during the night. A metallic quarter moon lights the dark sky to help the slaves find shelter :)
